Students will learn the basics of competition math on the topics of algebra, counting, geometry, and number theory. Students can use this class to gain exposure to the techniques used to solve problems that could appear on competitions like the AMC series or use it to supplement their learning for a deeper understanding of math.
4 Weeks, 1 hour per week
10+ years old
It is recommended to have a solid foundation in math but it is not necessary.

Week 1: Counting with Stars and Bars technique
Week 2: Circle Geometry
Week 3: Vieta's Formulas and other algebraic manipulations
Week 4: Number Theory - Modular Arithmetic
Stephen enjoys learning math as much as he likes teaching it. Currently, he has over 3 years of competitive math experience. In his free time, he likes to play golf and card games.
Michelle Liang is a rising senior at Canyon Crest Academy. She spends inordinate amounts of time holed up in a room grinding math problems on weekends. In her free time, she likes to read, play bad tennis, and research obscure facts about birds.
